The 30-Day Minimalist Game - Day One
I recently came across a great blog about living with less. At The Minimalists.com Joshua
Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus share their minimalist journey through
their blog and podcasts, and offer tips, services, and challenges. After reading
about the 30-Day Minimalism Game I have
decided to give it a go. I
challenged a friend to do this with me, and as a commitment to you, I will be
posting my activities here for all to see. On the first of the month, you
eliminate one thing, and the second, two things, and so on, until you reach the
30th of the month when you eliminate thirty things from your
home. If you are still playing the game on the 30th of the month, you will have eliminated 465 ‘things’ from your
home and from your life.
There are no rules about what to eliminate from your life, but it has to
be out of your home, and out of your life by midnight each day. You can sell,
donate or landfill your items, (although landfilling should be the last
option), just get it out the door, today.
Here is my day one selection...
I took a sip and paint class with a friend that I had been out of touch
with for a long time, and we had a great time. I had been hanging on to this
painting for the memories, but recently, the nastiness of the painting has been
overshadowing the loveliness of the evening. Time for the painting to go, but
the memory lives on!
See you tomorrow!
Cheers!
